Kendel + Jamie wedding in Mandurah, Western Australia

Mandurah is less than 2 hours from Perth. With the ceremony located near the water front. The groom and groomsmen cruised to the location in their own boat. I spent the half day capturing the bride and bridesmaids getting ready, the ceremony and on location photos with the couple and their party.

At the end of the day, the after sunset color in the sky matched perfectly with the purple color theme from the girls. The whole day from getting ready, to the ceremony and location photo session. I saw so much joy and laughters from the bridal and groom’s party. I could feel the bond and friendships between each individual. Blesses to Kendel and Jamie and their family and friends.

Red Tree Album is here

The Red Tree photo album has finally arrived. This is the first ever order from the Red Tree and I had no hesitation to let my client know that I’m ordering them something even I haven’t seen it in person. They trusted me and I trusted Red Tree to provide the highest quality they could deliver. And they did not disappoint me neither the album craftsmanship nor the photo prints. The prints on fuji crystal archive paper came out as what I see from my calibrated screen. The Japanese silk fabric is so pretty with the texture that sets apart from the leather.

For this album, Nicole selected the Tuscan Red fabric which is well suited for her Chinese background. The debossing is minimal to show the simplicity and elegancy of the album. As how I preferred, the album is lay-flat binding with thick pages.

Now that I have seen the actual product from Red Tree, I will order their sample album and swatches soon to let my clients see them in person.

I will provide Red Tree albums in 10×10 and 12×12 with minimum of 10 spreads (20 pages). A mini size of the original is also available in 5×5.

Susan + Andrew wedding at Fremantle

This was a wedding held in Fremantle near the Authur Head Reserve, which is just outside of Kailis Fish Market Cafe. It was a morning ceremony with breakfast at the reception. Simple and relax was the way Susan and Andrew wanted for their wedding. I fitted in perfectly with my journalistic photography style, capturing the event and the details of the day.

Sarah + Owen – Perth Wedding at Chapel Farm

For Sarah and Owen’s wedding, I was a 2nd photographer along side Paul at Blaque Studios. Whether I’m the main photographer or a 2nd photographer. I work with the same mindset. I capture the flow of the wedding and the details on the day. The main difference is that I am able to see things in another angle while Paul is doing his tasks. This adds more varieties on the photos for the wedding coverage.

The wedding ceremony and the banquet was held at Chapel Farm in Swan Valley. The venue is very pretty itself with a vineyard next door. It’s perfect with the sun setting behind.

The set of images are processed with the new presets by VSCOfilm. Speed up my workflow even more!

Lydia + Alain – Traditional Indian wedding gown

This is the first time I photographed an Indian couple and witnessed their colorful dresses. Their wedding gown is something special. It is unlike the Chinese gowns where only focuses on the crafting on the dress. Indian wedding gowns are designed to make the bride really pretty and able to move lightly without breaking the dress. Their jewelries and body painting is amazing too. Although it wasn’t a full traditional Indian wedding, but it was a fantastic experience.

Olivia + Andy wedding photos at Shangri-La, Hong Kong

In October, I photographed Olivia and Andy’s ceremony at Hong Kong Park. Here are the images taken on their wedding day at Island Shangri-La Hong Kong. Where they had the little family celebration in the Hotel room and getting ready for the reception.

Angela + Eric, Hong Kong wedding, Kowloon Shangri-La reception

Early August, I took Angela and Eric to Shing Mun reservoir for an engagement photo session. And two months later, I was the wedding photographer for their big day. A Chinese wedding normally works on a busy schedule. Traditionally, the bride and the groom would start the ceremony a night before the wedding. They would then wake up early to get ready. For the photographer, normally would start the coverage at 7:30 am. A full day runs till 11pm. So for the photographer, it’s not an easy job. Neither it is for Angela and Eric, it was a long restless day. Even a simplified Chinese wedding, there are always tea ceremonies at the Bride’s and Groom’s home. Then travel to the marriage registry, if time is available would bring the newly wedded couple to a short photo session. Lastly to the reception with many group photos and sometimes more tea ceremonies. With all these activities in a Chinese wedding. The couple deserves a huge round of applause.

With the full day wedding run down, I knew Angela and Eric got tire after they finished the group photos at the marriage registry. I’m appreciated that they still went to have some photos taken inside the reception venue. I had a great time being their photographer! Here are some highlights on the wedding day.

Olivia + Andy ceremony at Hong Kong Park

It was a sunny afternoon that gave Olivia and Andy a chance to get some lovely afternoon sunlight in their photos. Their ceremony was held at Hong Kong Park Cotton Tree Drive Marriage Registry. There were only family members and close friends witnessing the ceremony. We had the pre and post ceremony photo session at Hong Kong Park and also Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre. I used as much sunlight as possible before the sun gets blocked behind the buildings. Olivia and Andy got pretty sweaty though. Hope they didn’t mind after seeing the photos.

I’ll be shooting their reception end of Nov. Looking forward to make pretty photos for them again.
