Red Tree Album is here

March 26, 2012

The Red Tree photo album has finally arrived. This is the first ever order from the Red Tree and I had no hesitation to let my client know that I’m ordering them something even I haven’t seen it in person. They trusted me and I trusted Red Tree to provide the highest quality they could deliver. And they did not disappoint me neither the album craftsmanship nor the photo prints. The prints on fuji crystal archive paper came out as what I see from my calibrated screen. The Japanese silk fabric is so pretty with the texture that sets apart from the leather.

For this album, Nicole selected the Tuscan Red fabric which is well suited for her Chinese background. The debossing is minimal to show the simplicity and elegancy of the album. As how I preferred, the album is lay-flat binding with thick pages.

Now that I have seen the actual product from Red Tree, I will order their sample album and swatches soon to let my clients see them in person.

A photo session before Valentine’s Day is perfect for your love ones. Tamsin and Dave arranged their portrait taken at Claisebrook Cove, East Perth. A little area with classy houses and apartments. The area is near the river with beautiful green surroundings. As usual, I brought the couple for a walk around the location and let them enjoy the session and capturing their natural love moments. Luckily the session was taken after the heatwave in Perth. With the afternoon breeze, it was so much comfortable for everyone of us there.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Many would call their photo session before wedding an engagement photo session. However, in many Asian countries, they call it Pre-Wedding photo session. The bride to be would dress in a bridal gown and the groom to be would wear suits. Whereas in engagement photos, both would dress casual or smart casual. Either way, the most important is to show love while enjoying the photo session.

Nicole and Leon will get married in China. They want to have photos taken in Perth to bring it back to their home to show everyone the characteristics of the city. We travelled from Fremantle, to UWA/Blue Shed and to Swan Valley. To capture the popular Perth sceneries that they would keep in memories. All the best to your wedding and marriage life Nicole and Leon.

Kirsty and Chris and their lovely companies had some fun time out at the wood. Many laughters and love and  sunshine for me to capture.

It’s another Shek O engagement session. This time we came up with a little fun with a chalkboard that Karen and Brian have prepared. With the fine sunshine, we were able to get the backlit photos again. Save the date! 27th Feb 2011.

The weather was unstable, it has been raining for few days before the photo session. We worried because the photo session have already postponed once. The day turned out very lovely with scattered clouds to cool off the burning sun. The woods also covered up the path, so it was an enjoyable walk. It took us 20 minutes to get to the first location to start the photo shoot. The place was so green, the air was fresh. Plenty of good lights for the photo session. Hope Angela and Eric enjoyed the session and I can’t wait for their wedding day.

To be honest, I’m not a good writer nor a good speakers. But I’ll love to share my thoughts and experience with anyone who cares about wedding photographs. Anyone including couples who are getting married or photographers who are serious about wedding photography.

Here’s a chance for me to do that at Vianei Wedding. My trusted wedding gown vendor who always show support with my work. I’m honored to present a talk at their shop. Here’s the detail with a brief agenda of the talk.

Wedding Photo talk @ Vianei Wedding Hong Kong 30th May 2:00 – 3:30 pm
maximum 10 couples, register at info[at]vianeiwedding.hk or call 2369 2069.

The talk will be in two parts.
Pre-Wedding:
- Choosing your style
- Choosing locations
- Posing

Wedding Day:
- Planning with the photographer
- Increase photo quality
- sharing my experience

After the talk, there will be Q&A and open discussion. If you feel your wedding photos are one of the most important element of your wedding. Then join a session for free to prepare and find out how to find the right wedding photographer.

It was a really humid day in Hong Kong. We know spring is here when it is 99% humidity and I don’t think 100% humidity makes any difference. It was hot, sticky and sweaty. To be honest I hate it so much because I’m a sweaty person and especially I need to go out for photo shoot. But hey I love what I do, and I don’t care what kind of weather it is. As long I have a camera on my hand, I will work hard to find good photos.

With this kind of weather, the photo session made Jess and Jake a bit exhausted. We had to walk around the Soho area in Central for some photo spots. The area is up and down hills, so as soon as we started walking up hills, we were sweating already. Nevertheless, we went to a few locations in Soho. Played with the swings, walk through some old streets and then took a rest at a famous food stall.

This e-session was planned by Jess as a surprise for Jake. Jake came from Perth to Hong Kong for holiday and Jess wanted to get Jake a birthday present. At the end Jess couldn’t keep the secret as Jake found out about me. It was a really a lovely idea and I hope they enjoyed the moment with the e-session.
